Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of job rotation on employee motivation in an automotive manufacturing company in Indonesia. The study employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. Respondents were employee-level staff and supervisors who had participated in at least two job rotation programs within an automotive manufacturing company. A total of 96 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that the dimensions of reducing job boredom, increasing competence, and developing social relationships had a positive and significant effect on employee work motivation. Meanwhile, the dimensions of managerial preparation and job positioning did not have a significant effect. These findings suggest that job rotation designed to enrich work experience and social interaction is more effective in increasing motivation than administrative-oriented rotation. This study provides practical implications for management in designing job rotation programs oriented towards increasing employee motivation.
