Penyuluhan Prinsip Gizi Seimbang Berbasis Kearifan Lokal di SMP 11 Kota Palu

Abstract

Currently, Indonesian adolescents have three nutritional problems (triple burden), namely stunting, wasting and obesity as well as micronutrient deficiencies such as anemia. The purpose of community service is to provide education on the principles of balanced nutrition based on local wisdom and train to measure body mass index and assess nutritional status independently at SMP 11 Palu City. The service method is lecture and practice, pre-post test. The number of participants is 100 students representing grades 7 and 8, as many as 50 participants/day in two days. The results of the education were ? 83% experienced an increase in knowledge and skills scores in the good and very good categories, and only 19% were able to calculate body mass index after the education. It is expected that the school/UKS will motivate students to apply the principles of balanced nutrition based on local wisdom in their daily lives and encourage students to practice calculating body mass index and determining nutritional status independently or include it in mathematics learning exercises, participants who pass can monitor the nutritional status of other students every month or every three months as a school health program.
