Analysis of Wireless LAN Network Service Quality at the Indigenous Peoples Alliance of the Archipelago Office
Abstract
The development of information and communication technology, especially the internet network, plays a very important role in supporting work activities in various fields. The Tana Luwu Region Indigenous Peoples Alliance (AMAN) Office uses a wireless network (Wireless LAN) as a medium for communication and data exchange. However, limited bandwidth and the large number of users cause a decrease in network quality. This study aims to analyze Wireless LAN network services using the Quality of Service (QoS) method with parameters of Throughput, Packet Loss, Delay, and Jitter. The research method used is Action Research with the stages of Diagnosing, Action Taking, and Evaluating. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and direct measurements using the Wireshark application. The results showed that the average value of Throughput was 2618 Kbps (very good category), Packet Loss was 6.15% (good category), Delay was 105.326 ms (poor category), and Jitter was 105.301 ms (moderate category). Based on the analysis results, the quality of the Wireless LAN network at the AMAN Tana Luwu office is generally considered satisfactory, although it still needs improvement in the Delay aspect.
